Cup Gold (hai).
Overview
This gold cup is one of a sake set named NUUMEUSURII, and it was used along with a silver cup rinsing bowl, pair of silver bowls with stands, and silver octagonal goblets at banquets that took place at a castle. Chinese phoenix and auspicious cloud patterns were precisely embossed on the body of the cup, and petals of lotus were expressed around the bottom part of the cup. Peony patterns were inscribed on the inner and back of the bottom of the cup. Only kings used this gold cup.
